Hydrotherapy

As well as acupuncture, Tess goes for hydrotherapy at the vettherapycentre.co.uk. She goes into what looks like a large fish tank, which fills up with water to a level that gives her some support. A treadmill then starts up for a 3 minute session, during which she has to walk. There are edges which don't move, and Tess quickly learned to aim for these and cling on, so now we have to hold her lightly so that she can't do this. Whilst she is working her front end for herself, a vet manipulates her back legs, in an attempt to stop her muscles from wasting before she gets any nerve re-growth. I took a video, and you can see it here:

Acupuncture

Today, Tess went for her first session of acupuncture, followed by another dose of hydrotherapy. She now seems to be attempting to stand, but not yet managing to do it. She is still showing slight signs of improvement, although nothing dramatic, but better than going the other way. It was done at http://www.vettherapycentre.co.uk/

Tess On Wheels

Tess has learned to use her new wheels, and is all tinselled-up for Christmas. Her back legs and tail show very tiny flickers of mobility, and she makes the most of what she has. She still loves her pet humans, and is teaching them a great deal about fortitude and patience. You can see a video of her in action here:  Tess On Wheels The wheels themselves came from www.wheels4dogs.co.uk

We Wish You a Merry Christmas 2012

Well, Christmas has come round again and our annual card, created by John Donnelly, has been sent out far and wide. Just in case you missed it, or wanted to take another look, here it is:

Sadly, since this was painted, Tess has lost the use of her back legs, but she is starting to show glimmers of recovery, we can only hope for the best.
